Customer directive

Davron’s customer was looking for an oven that would preheat an automotive carpet (noise, vibration, and harshness) product prior to being formed. A two-position pick and place system was included on the load end of the system to accommodate multiple product pick locations. This allows a stack of product to be picked from while the other pick location is being reloaded with product, reducing change over time.

Description

The general equipment sequence is for the pick and place to pick a part off of a stack that has been loaded on to a lift table. The picked part is then placed onto the conveyor belt to be indexed into the heated chamber for process. There are two pick/load positions on the load end of the equipment. The oven includes a single zone of heat, with variable temperatures and dwell times based on the product being processed. Once the part has been heated, the conveyor will shuttle forward to transfer the part from the oven to the mold press. The conveyor will retract back into the oven to allow the press to close. At this point the automated load system will place a new part on the conveyor belt, and the process will repeat.
